Wheelchairs to People With Disabilities

As part of the Independence Day celebration, the BERWO Foundation, led by the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Chief (Mrs.) Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, in partnership with the Ebonyi State Government, has given out 20 wheelchairs to people living with disabilities in the state.

The donation is part of the government’s People’s Charter of Needs plan to help citizens and reduce their suffering.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Nwifuru said the gesture was to make life easier for people with special needs.

“I care deeply about their wellbeing and want to help them move freely. Many of them cannot walk because of their health condition,” she said.

She added that the BERWO Foundation also gave the beneficiaries some cash to support their families.

In his remarks, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, praised the First Lady and her foundation for their continuous support to the less privileged and promised that his government would keep working to improve the lives of people with disabilities in the state.
