Nwoba Chika Nwoba Accuses Governor Nwifuru of Threats to Life and Family
Awka, Nigeria – In a disturbing revelation late tonight, political activist and former Ebonyi State government official, Nwoba Chika Nwoba, has raised an alarm over an alleged assassination attempt and intimidation campaign targeted at him and his family.
According to a statement made by Mr. Nwoba, four unidentified hefty men stormed his residence in Awka about 20 minutes before his public declaration. They reportedly knocked on the door persistently, disguising themselves as neighbors. However, they failed to gain access to the apartment and were later seen leaving the premises.
In a strongly worded statement, Nwoba accused the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, of orchestrating the intimidation.
> “This is me telling them to backtrack. They’re toeing the wrong path. I can’t assure them of their security around my place if they keep coming around,” Nwoba stated.
“I have made it known that should anything happen to the members of my family in Awka, there’ll be a fatal reprisal. Gov. Nwifuru and his boys should let me be. They should stop disturbing my family in Awka. It’s becoming alarming. What did members of my family do to deserve this disturbance?”
He warned that any harm to his family members would be met with consequences and called on the general public to take note of the threat he believes he is under.
> “The public should know that the Governor of Ebonyi State is after my life and the lives of the members of my family. He should get to work and leave me alone. His government needs to be criticized to ginger it to performance,” he added.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the Ebonyi State Government or Governor Nwifuru regarding the allegations.
