The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has declared that no Igbo man or woman will contest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
According to the group, the decision is aimed at fostering political unity, national stability, and strengthening the bond between the South-East and the current administration.
Ohanaeze noted that the interest of Ndigbo will be better protected through strategic alliances rather than direct opposition, stressing that their focus is on securing political inclusion, infrastructure development, and fairness in governance for the region.
The body urged all Igbo political actors to align with this position in order to avoid internal divisions ahead of the election.
